Accompanist: Richard Sutcliffe

Richard's musical education began at the age of six when his father started teaching him the piano.

A year later he joined Wakefield Cathedral Choir and worked his way through the ranks to become head chorister. He also studied the trumpet and organ.

After leaving school, Richard continued his education on the highly-regarded Music and Sound Recording (Tonmeister) degree course at the University of Surrey. Alongside his academic and technical training, Richard opted to do as much performing as was possible, and he studied the piano for three years with Clive Williamson.

Since leaving university, Richard has enjoyed ten years as a classical record producer for many of the UK's most notable ensembles and soloists, such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Grimethorpe Colliery Brass Band and Sir Willard White.

He recently trained to become a commercial pilot and he now flies the Airbus A320 for British Airways. He continues to be in demand as a singer, accompanist and musical director for numerous choirs and music groups around Wiltshire. With his wife Ali, he has two children Barnaby and Amelia.
